It's as simple as going into iPhoto or Photos, choosing the project you want to order and uploading its PDF. While there are a few options out there for printing Apple Picture Books, Mimeo Photos is the only resource that allows you to reprint past photobooks using our exclusive Apple Photo Project Ordering Service. Reprint Past Apple Photobooks Using Apple Photo Project Ordering Service The loss of Photo Print Products may have been unfortunate, but Apple and third-party extensions ensured they never really left. Page Quantity: Photobooks can range from 20-100 pages.Softcover: Hardcover options are more expensive but more durable. Landscape: Square options range from 8x8 to 10x10. These photobooks are available in the classic sizes, covers, and themes. The original Apple Picture Books are still available with Mimeo Photos. Both Apple and Mimeo Photos are powerful tools in their own right, but when you combine the two, it's as if Apple Picture Books never left the Photo Print Products service. The integration of the two services also means you have access to all of Apple's easy-to-use editing tools when creating your photobook. Whether you need to match a previous book or simply really enjoyed a particular theme you once had printed, the tools are available to create exactly what you're looking for. MacRumors pointed out that the themes, photo projects, and templates are identical to what Apple initially offered.Īpple Smart Themes Available with Mimeo Photosīy offering access to identical themes from Apple's previous system, users are able to create the exact photobooks they've come to love. With such a long-term business relationship, it's no wonder the Apple Picture Books, calendars and other products offered by Mimeo Photos are exactly what consumers came to expect from Apple itself. In fact, Mimeo was the supplier for Apple's Photo Print Products service for over half a decade. The company's relationship with Mimeo Photos, however, predates this decision. After all, it was only 2017 when Apple started offering third-party support. While several extensions were suggested, some of the options were around much longer than others. By using these extensions, it's still possible to order Apple Picture Books and other items using images stored in the Photos app. On its main website, Apple directs consumers to third-party services that integrate with Photos. While the adding of support for Photos extensions was only a subtle hint of what was to come, the move made it easier for users to continue ordering products without interruption. This eventually allowed them to discontinue their own service. Prior to the seemingly abrupt cessation of their image-based offerings, Apple showed signs of its eventual discontinuation by offering support for third-party Photos extensions, including Mimeo Photos, in 2017. Once the final orders were placed in September of that year, Photo Print Products ceased to exist. After over 15 years of providing the service, though, Apple sent a discontinuation notification through the Photos app in July 2018. Individuals who loved creating custom keepsakes, however, could still order Apple Picture Books, calendars, cards, and other products through their Mac. When the Apple Photos app replaced iPhoto, though, the service didn't migrate to iOS. The photos were professional-grade and the purchased items were shipped directly to consumer's homes. ![]() It allowed users to order pictures, calendars, photobooks, and other print products featuring the images in their Apple account. ![]() Upon its inception in 2002, Photo Print Products was directly integrated into the iPhoto platform. The lawsuit charges that Samsung has intentionally gamed the processing power of a number of its devices to not only remain competitive but to increase consumer demand and command higher prices for its products. As the case tells it, Samsung’s alleged throttling of certain smartphones was intended to address the discrepancy between what the devices’ batteries are capable of delivering and the demands placed upon them by the manufacturer’s hardware and software. In reality, however, the processors in certain Samsung smartphones run at a lower speed when the devices are handling real-world tasks as opposed to benchmark tests, the complaint alleges. The complaint, filed in New Jersey on March 11, specifies that Samsung artificially boosts the smartphones’ performance when benchmarking apps are run because tech publications and review websites regularly use these apps to evaluate new devices and compare them to those of competitors or predecessor products. Severe storms moving inland often create a storm surge, a long wave caused by high winds and a continued low pressure area. Surface waves occur constantly all over the globe, and are the waves you see at the beach under normal conditions.Īdverse weather or natural events often produce larger and potentially hazardous waves. Most common are surface waves, caused by wind blowing along the air-water interface, creating a disturbance that steadily builds as wind continues to blow and the wave crest rises. Where does a wave's energy come from? There are a few types of ocean waves and they are generally classified by the energy source that creates them. Eventually this imbalance in the wave reaches a breaking point, and the crest comes crashing down as wave energy is dissipated into the surf. The approach of the bottom in shallow areas causes the lower portion of the wave to slow down and compress, forcing the wave’s crest higher in the air. As a wave passes through water, not only does the surface water follow an orbital motion, but a column of water below it (down to half of the wave’s wavelength) completes the same movement. The idea of waves being energy movement rather than water movement makes sense in the open ocean, but what about on the coast, where waves are clearly seen crashing dramatically onto shore? This phenomenon is a result of the wave’s orbital motion being disturbed by the seafloor. The only thing waves do transmit across the sea is energy. In reality, the water in waves doesn’t travel much at all. If one imagines water within a wave following this same pattern, it is easier to understand ocean waves as simply the outward manifestation of kinetic energy propagating through seawater. When a wave encounters a surface object, the object appears to lurch forward and upward with the wave, but then falls down and back in an orbital rotation as the wave continues by, ending up in the same position as before the wave came by. Waves are actually energy passing through the water, causing it to move in a circular motion. ![]() Though waves do cause the surface water to move, the idea that waves are travelling bodies of water is misleading. Looking out at the ocean, you often see a seemingly infinite series of waves, transporting water from one place to the next. Download larger version (mp4, 5.3 MB MB). As weather allowed, the team continued with mapping objectives, waiting it out until the next available dive day. During the 2021 North Atlantic Stepping Stones: New England and Corner Rise Seamounts expedition, 25-knot winds and sustained swells resulted in a cancelled dive. Waves in the wrong form can spell trouble for remotely operated vehicle operations. But if the seafloor has an underwater canyon or a robust reef, steeper waves like those of Teahupoo can be created. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video If the sea bed is generally smooth with a gradual shallowing, the beach gets to have gentle, spilling waves. The type and quality of the waves that break on the shore depend on the topography of the seafloor. Once the waves steepen to a critical angle, the top crest of the wave topples forward into the trough in front of it, exploding into whitewater. Waves that hit a sloping coastline essentially start to drag on the bottom the energy at shallower depths and at the surface moves faster and creates steeper blue-water waves. ![]() Waves fan out from the originating storm until they dissipate with distance or by hitting an obstacle, like the sandbar at your local surf break. The wind energy travels in waves across the ocean as the water particles hit one another, transferring the energy. The wind is ultimately the reason waves exist - wind blowing across the ocean kicks up ripples, which add together and grow larger and longer. Once you’ve run a contest that is targeted at your ideal customer, it’s important to make everyone feel like a winner. However, we still wanted to brainstorm to think about a unique spin we could put on it so it would be even more appealing to our subscribers and maybe even current customers. ![]() We sell a keyword research software, Long Tail Pro, so it seemed obvious that giving away a copy of our own software would fit the bill. So in terms of leads, give a cosmetic dentist the choice of a list of 3,000 people who like iPads and 150 people who want teeth whitening and see which one he takes. Remember, the whole point of doing this is to generate leads and ultimately sales. Maybe instead of 3,000 entries to the iPad giveaway, they end up with 150 for teeth whitening. More than likely, a teeth whitening giveaway won’t be as popular as an iPad giveaway. Since professional teeth whitening is a service the dentist offers, he can feel confident that almost everyone who enters the contest wants what he sells. What do we know about people who enter to win professional teeth whitening? What if, on the other hand, the cosmetic dentist decides to give away something like free professional teeth whitening instead of an iPad? It’s quite possible that you could end up with 3,000 contest entrants and zero solid leads. Perhaps there are a few people coveting a free iPad that are also looking for teeth whitening, but there is certainly no direct connection between the two. But how many of those 3,000 entries are leads that might turn into revenue for your dental services? So if you’re a cosmetic dentistry practice and you’re giving away an iPad, you might get 3,000 entries. What do we know about people who enter to win an iPad? The problem with being too general with your giveaway is that the point of the contest is to generate leads and sales. After all, you’ll cast a wider net and probably get more entries since almost everyone wants what you’re giving away. These types of giveaways appeal to almost everyone who wouldn’t want a free iPad?Īt first, having a contest with wide appeal seems like a great idea. How many times have you seen an advertisement to enter to win a free iPad or a free big screen TV?
